The 2014 Kia Forte 5-Door: Hatchback Practicality for the Future

The 2014 Kia Forte 5-Door has already been a topic of conversation at McGrath Kia in Hiawatha, IA, and that should come as no surprise. Many drivers in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding communities have realized the exceptional value that this vehicle represents. The Forte, after all, has established its place in the automotive market thanks to its strong set of features, it's affordable pricing, and its generous interior dimensions. But the question is this: what can we expect when the 2014 Forte arrives at our dealership sometime in 2013?

Looks Like a Redesign

While the 2014 Kia Forte 5-Door has yet to see the light of day, Kia showed off the sedan model at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, and we think it's reasonable to assume that most of the changes will apply to the 5-door hatchback model.

First thing's first: the styling looks great. While not a radical departure from the Forte of year's past, the look has been refined, featuring smooth lines and Kia's signature grille. It will surely be available with a number of premium features, including leather seating, a navigation system, and LED running lights.

It looks like the 2014 Forte 5-Door will get a change of powertrain options, too. The 2013 model could be had with one of two four-cylinder engines: a 156-hp 2.0L model or a 173-hp 2.4L model. The 2013 model will again give you two four-cylinder engines to choose from, but they'll be a 148-hp 1.8L model and a direct-injected 173-hp 2.0L model. As this is a small car, you should have plenty of get-up-and-go.
