The 2014 Rio 5-Door Will Continue to be Functional and Versatile
The 2013 model drew plenty of fans, so its not surprising that drivers throughout the Cedar Rapids, IA area are waiting with bated breath for the 2014 Kia Rio 5-Door. This subcompact hatchback will, like its predecessor, offer a great deal of interior versatility and features - but beyond being a continuation of an amazing model, what else can we expect? Unfortunately, Kia's been pretty tight-lipped about what the future holds. That said, we can offer a bit of speculation about what this vehicle will offer when it arrives at our Hiawatha dealership.
More of the Same Greatness
Let's say right away that the 2014 Kia Rio 5-Door's interior versatility and practicality will continue the tradition set by its predecessor. With 60/40-split folding rear seats, you can configure the interior in a number of ways; and with the rear seats folded down, you'll have 50 cubic feet of cargo space. This is one aspect of the 2014 Rio 5-Door that won't be changed - in fact, we don't expect any major changes, since it was just redesigned for the 2012 model year.
On change we could very likely see is a change in the Rio's standard features. Primarily, we're thinking of Kia's UVO infotainment system, which currently only comes as an optional feature in the mid-range EX and top-end SX models. We think it's possible that the UVO system could be made standard on the base LX model at some point in the future, possibly even for the 2014 model. If that happens, Bluetooth connectivity will likely come standard, too. That said, we expect other high-end features, like a navigation system and heated front seats, are certainly going to remain optional.
