Redesigned From the Ground Up

Maybe the biggest and most important change for the 2014 Kia Sorento is an improved underlying structure. Kia has managed to lighten the body and also improve strength and stiffness by around 18%. This results in a more responsive ride and enhanced handling.

Under the hood, the 2014 Sorento has a new direct-injected 2.4L four-cylinder engine that's good for 191 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. That engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that will send power to the front wheels. Also available will be a 3.3L V6 that cranks out an impressive 290 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque.

With the optional engine upgrade you can also opt for a Torque On Demand all-wheel drive system. This sophisticated system incorporates Torque Vectoring Cornering Control in order to automatically send power to the rear wheels when it detects that the front wheels are slipping in poor weather, or during hard cornering.

In order to provide a flexible driving experience, the Sorento also comes with the 

innovative Flex Steer technology. This allows the driver to select normal, sport, or comfort steering modes to suit a variety of driving styles and needs.

The new Sorento also comes with a number of new standard and optional features. The final trim-level highlights include fog lights, Bluetooth, satellite radio, smartphone integration, and a navigation system.
